A classic American Shure 55S “Small Unidyne” dynamic microphone by Shure Brothers Inc., Chicago, USA. The blue identification plate is marked Model 55S, serial number 5401.

With its sculpted silver-tone grille, burgundy cloth and distinctive Shure badge, this microphone makes a striking display piece. It looks particularly good alongside a vintage radio or as the centrepiece of a mid-century studio display. The desk stand and cable shown in the photos are included.

The metal housing shows honest patina and surface pitting, with a small tear in the grille cloth near the bottom. Working condition is unverified.
