Very hard to find – double sided inscription)
A striking and authentic post-war German grave cross, made of concrete with its original inset plates reading “Ein Deutscher Soldat” — marking the resting place of an unknown German soldier.
This example features the inscription on both sides, making it especially desirable and ideal for display from any angle.
After WWII, such crosses were used during the reorganisation of battlefield burials, when many fallen soldiers were respectfully relocated to official war cemeteries. This piece stands as a silent witness to that period — a raw and sober reminder of the aftermath of war.
The rough concrete construction and minimalist design perfectly reflect the reality of the time. Its presence is powerful, emotional, and historically meaningful.
Very hard to find on the market today, especially with double-sided inscription and in this complete condition.
