Original U.S. WWII Signal Corps glass insulator set, recovered in Normandy, France.
A fantastic untouched Normandy barn-find set. These original U.S. WWII Signal Corps communication line insulators were discovered in a barn in Normandy and personally collected on site. The exact two insulators shown in the photos are included and sold together as one complete lot.
Manufactured by Whitall Tatum Co. U.S.A. and clearly marked:
* “WHITALL TATUM No.2”
* “MADE IN U.S.A.”
* dated 1941 and 1943
Both insulators still retain their original heavy steel mounting brackets with beautiful untouched field patina and surface aging.
These were used for U.S. Army Signal Corps field telephone and communication lines during and after the Normandy campaign.
