Very nice original black bakelite wall telephone dating from the WWII period. These heavy bakelite wall phones were widely used in Europe in homes, offices, and public buildings before, during, and shortly after the Second World War.
The telephone features the classic wall-mounted design with the fixed handset on top and a rotary dial on the front. In the center of the dial the old emergency numbers are still visible with symbols for the Red Cross (medical services), fire brigade, and civil protection, which adds to its authentic historical appearance.
This type of telephone was commonly installed in private houses, administrative buildings, police stations, and shops during the late 1930s and 1940s.
