An original American Johnson & Johnson Industrial Emergency Case, believed to have been designed for the Red Cross around 1940. This portable wooden cabinet features a drop-front lid, a carrying handle and three drawers with gold-lettered contents lists.

The cabinet retains a substantial selection of original first aid supplies, including Johnson & Johnson Red Cross gauze and bandages in their period packaging, an Esmarch triangular bandage and four wooden splints. The included American Red Cross First Aid Text-Book is marked “Corrected Reprint 1940.”

The exterior has an honest patina, with rubbed edges, scratches and areas of paint loss. The lettering remains clear, and the cabinet displays especially well with the drawers open and the original contents on view.

A rare set for a wartime medical or Red Cross collection.
